David Croft joined Cadbury in 2005 as Ethical Sourcing Director, and then taking on the role of global Director of Conformance and Sustainability.

His remit encompasses Cadbury's global activity on food safety and quality, health and safety, environmental management and environmental sustainability, ethical sourcing and sustainable agriculture, addressing Cadbury's own sites around the world and their global supplier network. He is currently a member of the Food Ethics Council, and previously served as a director of the Ethical Trading Initiative, and as a council member at the Campden & Chorleywood Food Research Association, both in the UK

Prior to joining Cadbury, David worked for the Co-operative Group in Manchester, UK, where he held a number of senior roles within its retail business, leading technical and marketing functions, including quality assurance, product and brand development, ethical sourcing and retail standards. This included numerous high profile consumer marketing campaigns, addressing issues such as Fairtrade, organic and integrated farm management, animal welfare, and consumer diet and health.
