Matt Hale is Head of Environmental Sustainability for the EMEA region of Merrill Lynch. His role includes the oversight of all the activities that relate to Merrill Lynch's focus on embedding environmental sustainability into its strategic planning. He works closely with the Bank's carbon, debt and equity trading, banking and wealth management groups, as well as developing strategies to reduce the firm's own carbon footprint and engage its employees in the challenge. Prior to this he was Head of the Treasury Group, overseeing capital, balance sheet and liquidity for the region. Matt joined Merrill Lynch in 2004, and previously he worked in Private Equity and at Bankers Trust, where he oversaw the Banks global securities financing activities.
