• Vice President of Stop the War Coalition; CND National Council Member; Director of the International Forum on Globalization; Matron of the Women's Environmental Network; Director of the RSPCA; Patron of Action for UN Renewal.
• Winner of the Observer's Ethical Award for the UK's most ethical politician in 2007 and Michael Kay Award for European Animal Welfare. Inclusion in the Environment Agency's Top 100 Eco-Heroes of all time.
