With a particular interest in the role of environmental and social issues in corporate governance, Vanessa advises on director and officer liability, derivative action risks, and parent and lender liability issues arising out of climate change and environment issues. Other climate change experience has included advising in relation to the regulatory regime applicable to carbon capture and storage, jurisdictional variations with regard to carbon trading rules within the EU, the sale and purchase of certified emission reductions, and the allocation of emissions allowances upon the sale and purchase of businesses regulated under the EU:ETS.
